  • Also serves a large recreational tourism sector
  • Capacity: Average flow 11,000 m³/day

Main components

  • Wastewater pumping station
  • Pre-treatment (one screen rake, one vortex grit tank)
  • Four (4) aerated lagoons
  • Twelve (12) surface aerators
  • Chemical phosphate removal

Complexity and key features

  • Maintenance of surface aerators directly on the lagoons
  • Great deal of complex mechanics at main pumping station
  • Problem with frequent blockages in the alum dosing system
  • Problems with waste transportation, which required modifications
